More buses to transport fans to Ashton Gate in 2018/19

Bristol City supporters can make use of new and improved bus routes on home matchdays.

Four routes will transport fans to and from the stadium on a matchday over the course of the new campaign, including the launch of a brand new service which will be free to use this weekend.

It comes as Ashton Gate extends its partnership with First Bus for the 2018/19 season.

Bristol City fans to enjoy increased services

For football supporters, the new ‘AG6’ service, operating between Henbury, Westbury-on-Trym, Whiteladies Road and Clifton Village. This service will run for FREE on Saturday (August 4th) when City open the Sky Bet Championship season against Nottingham Forest (3pm kick-off).

The Portway service (AG1) and Brislington Park and Ride (AG2) will operate at increased frequency pre and post match following feedback from supporters.

Ashton Gate chairman Martin Griffiths said: “The bus routes have been extremely popular with our supporters on matchday and it’s vital we continue to focus on how we can enhance our travel options to Ashton Gate, as well as easing congestion in key areas of the city.

“Following supporter feedback, we have worked closely with First Bus to tweak our routes and services. Our environment footprint is important to us, so we hope supporters will take advantage of these subsidized services as the season commences.”

First Bus commercial manager Simon Ford added: “We’re proud to be in partnership with Ashton Gate and the clubs once again. We’re delighted to unveil our new and improved service for 2018/19, with an additional route added for both football and rugby matchdays, as well as an increased service on other selected routes.”

Supporters can purchase the Bristol Inner Zone Day Ticket for £4 return (adult) if you purchase an m-ticket on the First Bus APP. Purchasing a return ticket in cash will cost £4.50. A single (one way) journey costs £3. Concessionary pass holders can use their passes to travel free of charge, while up to two children (under 16) can travel free of charge with a fare paying adult.
