Taylor Moore has joined Southend United on a season-long loan with an option for a recall in January.
The move comes after the defender signed a one-year contract extension keeping him in BS3 until June 2020.
Moore links up with City striker Shawn McCoulsky, who agreed a season-long spell with the Blues earlier in the summer.
Head coach Lee Johnson said: “Taylor came back from a successful loan at Cheltenham Town last year and excelled in pre-season for us.
"Unfortunately, he got a little niggle and missed two or three weeks. We believe this step is right for him to go and play centre-back in League One and we are looking forward to watching his progress closely over the coming months.”
