Alex Scott celebrates his 18th birthday today with a new four-year contract and insisted: “I haven’t achieved anything yet.”
The midfielder nurtured on Guernsey and now developing in BS3 has matured on and off the field, where he has started all four Sky Bet Championship matches this season.
Scott first joined City’s Academy in December 2019 and has progressed through the Under-18s and Under-23s, signing a professional contract in March of this year.
Now he has committed to the Robins until 2025 and he reflected: “It feels great. It’s what I’ve been working towards since I was a child and to push on this season is what I’m aiming for. I just want to go out there and prove I am capable of playing at his level. Progressing and working hard is the main thing.”
On what is another proud day for the player’s family, Guernsey FC and its manager Tony Vance, Scott reflected: “It’s all happened so quickly and I’ve just got to keep going. I haven’t achieved anything yet and I want to achieve a lot more in the game.
“I'm loving it in the Championship. You know the players in this division are strong, physical and technically good but it's a great league for me to progress. I'm enjoying each game, they're all tough but we've got to keep looking forward and getting more points on the board.”
