Bristol City Women’s FC have announced the signing of 22 year old defender Megan Alexander.
Megan joins The Vixens from Everton Ladies, where she spent last season impressing down the left flank.
Prior to this Megan played for Liverpool Ladies and enjoyed a spell on loan at Oxford United Women and is clearly delighted at joining Willie Kirk’s side, commenting: “I am really pleased to join Bristol City Women for the 2016 season, and I am keen to play a major part in the club’s promotion bid.
"Willie is building a really strong squad and all of the players have made me feel very welcome. I can’t wait for this new challenge to begin.”
Bristol City Women’s manager Kirk added “Firstly, I am very thankful to Everton in allowing Megan to train with us after she moved home having completed her University course in Liverpool after the summer. This gave my staff and me plenty of time to properly assess her and get to know her as a player and a person.
"It became apparent quite quickly however, that she was a player that I wanted to work with in the longer term. She is young, enthusiastic, and is hungry to learn and develop. She gives us good options down the left hand side both defensively and attacking and I'm sure that she will be an important player for us this year.”
