The Robins return to Sky Bet Championship action on Saturday as they look to return to winning ways (October 24th, 3pm).
In partnership with MansionBet, here’s a preview of what you can expect from the fixture.
Having suffered their first defeat of the campaign to Middlesbrough in midweek, Dean Holden’s men will hope they can bounce back from that “off night” at the first attempt, when Swansea City cross the border.
It was former City loanee George Saville who bought an end to the Robins’ unbeaten run on Tuesday evening, as he capitalised on a mistake at the back. And, to add to frustrations, the hosts had a penalty appeal waved away for what looked a clear foul on Tyreeq Bakinson.
However, as Head Coach Holden said in his post-match interviews, his group need to “move on quickly” as they prepare to come up against a Swansea side who are in decent form themselves.
Steve Cooper’s outfit currently sit two points behind the Robins in sixth position, having accumulated three wins, two draws and one defeat to date, although they are without a win in two.
As well as the rivalry that is always present in an England-Wales derby, the fixture also marks a possible first return to Ashton Gate for Korey Smith, who departed BS3 in August before linking up with the Swans. Smith has since been reacquainted with Kasey Palmer - who moved to the Liberty Stadium on loan in the summer transfer window – although he is ineligible to play.

Sky Bet Championship
City struck with two second-half goals to beat Swansea City at Ashton Gate.
Andreas Weimann’s first goal in six months got the Robins up and running just 42 second after the restart, while Callum O’Dowda’s fourth goal of the season completed the 2-0 scoreline.
Frank Fielding produced a fine save to tip a George Byers effort on to the woodwork, while O’Dowda could have made it three, but for a close-range save from Erwin Mulder.
