Saturday's Sky Bet Championship encounter will pit together two teams whose form could not be any more different.
City are flying high with three victories from their opening three games in the league - their best winning start to a season since 2001/02. It puts them joint top of the Championship table, alongside Reading, as they look to go into the break with maximum points.
Team spirit and performances have rightly been praised following the start Dean Holden's men have made but the Robins head coach remains adamant there is still room for improvement. City certainly had to change their game in last weekend's 2-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday, with half-time tweaks proving critical to overcoming the Owls in a physical encounter at Ashton Gate.
Similarly, Jamie Paterson has spoken of how the squad is remaining grounded and could face their toughest test of the campaign in his former club Forest this weekend.
In stark contrast to City's form, Sabri Lamouchi's side are without a win or even a goal in any of their opening four games in all competitions this season.
In fact, their last win came against Bristol City back in July, with the pressure seemingly mounting at the City Ground. They've also lost their record transfer signing in João Carvalho who has been loaned to Almeria, while injured midfielder Tiago Silva is rumoured to be signing for Olympiacos.
Injury update: There have been good signs of progress in the camp this week and Holden hopes to have "one or two" back competing for a spot this weekend. Jay Dasilva was back in the matchday squad last weekend and Callum O’Dowda, Liam Walsh, Joe Morrell, Joe Williams and Tomas Kalas have all been absent through respective injuries, while Nathan Baker is not expected back in contention until Christmas.

Famara Diédhiou swept home his eighth goal of the season to secure City their fifth consecutive win in a 1-0 victory away to Nottingham Forest.
The striker tapped home from Andreas Weimann’s second-half cutback at the City Ground, as City made it 11 unbeaten in all competitions.
City had been bright but survived spells of pressure, with Frank Fielding denying Lewis Grabban, Yohan Benalouane and Jack Colback, to earn his clean sheet in his first appearance of the season.
Weimann had a glorious chance to make it 2-0 late on but for the in-form Costel Pantilimon, however the full-time whistle would ensure City retain seventh spot in the Sky Bet Championship and a rare win on Forest turf; their third victory here in their last 28 attempts.
