🔎 MansionBet Match Preview: Hull City (A)

Take an in-depth look at how City match up against this weekend's opponents Hull City at the MKM Stadium.

🔴 OURSELVES

Nigel Pearson has challenged his Bristol City side to replicate their improved home form on the road as well as find a ruthless edge in front of goal.

The Robins travel north in search of successive league victories and face a Hull City side who have put together a run which has them lifted them up out of the bottom three and into 19th.

Speaking to Robins TV, Pearson said: “We need to get back to winning ways away from home and we need to start getting back-to-back wins.

“To make any progress in any league, especially this one (Championship) we’ve got to get away results to back up our improved home form.”

Matty James is fit after his second-half return against Derby County, Andy King and George Tanner have been training fully but Joe Williams (hamstring) and Nathan Baker (concussion) are unavailable.

🧳  OUR OPPONENTS

Hull City are in form following their early-season struggles with a draw and four victories in their last five outings.

The Tigers, promoted back into the Championship as League One winners in April, are on their best run of form at second-tier level since the winter of 2018-19, with Grant McCann having received a nomination for the Championship manager of the month award.

Ranked at the top of the Championship’s latest six-match form guide, Hull could welcome back influential 34-year-old midfielder Tom Huddlestone, who is pushing for a start after returning from injury, having come off the bench in the win at Cardiff City.

Honeyman (pictured left) is in the running for the players' accolade for November after scoring three and assisting in two of Hull’s seven goals.

The midfielder joined the Tigers from boyhood club Sunderland, first signing for the Black Cats' Academy at the age of 10.  Honeyman was appointed as Sunderland's new captain at the age of just 23 and led his side to the Papa John’s Trophy final and League One play-off final in his final season at the Stadium of Light.
