🔎 MansionBet Match Preview: Coventry (H)

Take an in-depth look at how City match up against Coventry when they meet at Ashton Gate on Tuesday evening (7:45pm).

🔴 OURSELVES

City head into this game off the back of a 2-1 win at home to Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon, after goals from both Antoine Semenyo and Andreas Weimann.

Nigel Pearson will want to see his side show the same commitment and resilience as they look to make it five consecutive Sky Bet Championship victories at Ashton Gate with a win against the Sky Blues.

With another goal and an assist to his name in his last match, Semenyo will be eyeing up his 15th goal contribution as he looks to continue his form on Tuesday night against Mark Robins' side.

🧳 OUR OPPONENTS

Coventry come into this game off the back of a 1-0 home win over Barnsley on Saturday afternoon, courtesy of a 93rd minute winner from Dominic Hyam.

Mark Robins will want to see his side do the double over the Robins when they travel to Ashton Gate on Tuesday after beating them 3-2 earlier on in the season despite going down to ten men in the first half.

Coventry sit just three points outside of the top six therefore they will be confident they can grab a play-off spot as they look to dramatically improve on their 16th place finish last season.

Result: Bristol City 2-1 Coventry City
When: 12.09.20
Competition: Sky Bet Championship

Tomas Kalas was announced as the new Robins club captain an hour before kick-off and he was there to head home from a late corner to seal the points at Ashton Gate.

Jamie Paterson scored just 20 seconds into the campaign with a close-range finish, though the Sky Blues battled back through Matt Godden.

Newly-promoted Coventry proved a handful, particularly in the first half but Dan Bentley kept City in the contest, before Kalas nodded in the winner less than 10 minutes from the end.

The midfielder started his career at Aston Villa but only made a handful of appearances for them before permanently to Coventry in 2020 after a successful loan spell the previous season.
