Hordur Magnusson earned another cap for his country in their 2-1 international friendly defeat to Czech Republic.
The Icelandic defender played the first half of the game in Doha, which saw his country beaten in their first fixture since qualifying for next summer’s World Cup in Russia.
Tomas Soucek and Jan Sykora scored the goals for the Czechs, with Kjartan Finnbogason providing a late response.
Iceland will be debutants at the 2018 World Cup and are the smallest country ever to feature at the finals.
Magnusson could yet be joined in Russia by team-mates Callum O’Dowda and Bailey Wright, who will feature in play-off doubleheaders for Republic of Ireland and Australia respectively in the coming days.
