Loan watch: Youngsters make their league debuts

Three loanees made their debuts across the EFL in the latest round of fixtures.

Owura Edwards (Grimsby), Robbie Cundy (Cambridge United), and Saikou Janneh (Newport County) all made their first appearances for their respective clubs, with Cundy following up last weekend's goal with a clean sheet in a 3-0 win over Carlisle in the Sky Bet League Two opener.

Janneh came off the bench to get 25 minutes in Newport's 1-1 draw with Scunthorpe United but Edwards' Grimsby were defeated 1-0 by Walsall. George Nurse was an unused substitute for the Saddlers.

Jonny Smith played 90 minutes as Swindon Town began life in League One with a 3-1 win over Rochdale.

Cameron Pring (Portsmouth) was an unused substitute in their 0-0 draw with Shrewsbury Town.
