Jonny Smith and Shawn McCoulsky were both on target in the Emirates FA Cup on Saturday.
Non-League AFC Fylde produced a fantastic display to beat Kidderminster Harriers 4-2 at home.
Smith, who joined City from Wrexham 16 months ago, fired home Fylde's third goal with his right foot.
McCoulsky's loan club Newport County are also in the hat for the next round and he scored the crucial goal in their 2-1 win over Walsall.
It wasn't such good news for Cheltenham Town in the cup as they lost 4-2 at home to non-league Maidstone. Taylor Moore and Joe Morrell were both substituted in the defeat.
In the National League South, Harvey Smith and Ash Harper both featured for Weston-super-Mare as they produced a stunning display at East Thurrock to win 4-3.
Elsewhere, Opi Edwards was a late replacement for Bath City in their 1-1 draw away at Whitehawk.
Alhaji Sesay's loan club Paulton Rovers were beaten 2-1 at Larkhall, while Cameron Allen played for Manfotsfield United in their 1-1 draw with Cirencester Town.
Finally, in Sweden, Gustav Engvall was a late replacement for Djurgarden in his final game for loan club Djurgarden. The Stockholm-based club beat Kalmar 2-0 away from home to seal a third place finish in the Allsvenskan table - and a Europa League spot.
