Loan Watch: Morrell scores screamer for Robins

Joe Morrell scored his second goal for Cheltenham Town as they were held 2-2 by Sky Bet League Two leaders Luton Town.

The City midfielder scored the opening goal from 25 yards as the Robins stunned Kenilworth Road into silence, later going 2-0 up. But the Hatters proved their promotion credentials with a superb late fightback.

Taylor Moore featured in the same game.

Zak Vyer’s Plymouth Argyle moved into the League One play-off zone with a sixth straight win.

The young defender has been involved in five of those matches as the Pilgrims continue their upward climb in League One.

Shawn McCoulsky was unable to add to his goal tally, appearing as a substitute in Newport County’s goalless draw at Port Vale.

Torquay United suffered a heart-breaking last-gasp home defeat to Sutton United, losing 3-2. George Dowling completed the whole 90 minutes, while Connor Lemonheigh-Evans featured as a second-half substitute.

Ashley Harper helped Weston-super-Mare to a 2-1 victory at Eastbourne, with Aaron Parsons seeing out the game as a substitute in stoppage time.

There was another clean sheet for Max O’Leary as Wrexham were held to a goalless draw by Solihull Moors. Opi Edwards was a late replacement in the non-league fixture.

There was also a draw for Bath City away at East Thurrock United. Antoine Semenyo and James Morton were both handed starts for the Romans in the 1-1 stalemate.

Elsewhere, Kel Akpobire’s Guernsey FC drew 1-1 with Hastings United.
