Shawn McCoulsky has now netted in successive matches for Newport County.
Fresh from netting against Swansea City in the Checkatrade Trophy, the forward bagged the Exiles’ fourth goal in a 4-0 win at Forest Green Rovers on Saturday.
Scott Golbourne returned from a hamstring injury for MK Dons, but couldn’t stop his loan club from falling to a 2-0 loss at Portsmouth.
Taylor Moore and Joe Morrell were both involved as Cheltenham Town slipped to a 3-1 loss at Port Vale, while Freddie Hinds was a second-half substitute.
Diego De Girolamo featured for the final half hour as Chesterfield slumped to another defeat, this time at home to Morecambe, losing 2-0.
Jonny Smith was a late replacement for AFC Fylde, who beat Wrexham 1-0 to reach the Emirates FA Cup first round.
There was defeat for Harvey Smith and Ashley Harper on loan at Weston-super-Mare, who slipped up 2-0 at home to Welling.
Jojo Wollacott kept a clean sheet for Bath City as they held Chemsford City in the FA Cup.
Meanwhile, Gustav Engvall’s Djurgarden suffered a blow to their Allsvenskan title ambitions after losing 2-0 to Sirius.
