Loan watch: Holden off the mark

Here's the latest roundup of City players out in action across the football pyramid.

Rory Holden punched the air in delight and celebrated with a handful of supporters on scoring his first ever professional goal last weekend.

His 93rd minute, left-footed strike saw the ball scoop over Northampton Town’s goalkeeper to clinch a dramatic 3-2 win for Walsall in Sky Bet League Two.

Elsewhere in the division, Bailey Wright helped Sunderland to three points and a clean sheet as they overcame Matty Taylor’s Oxford United 1-0.

Liam Walsh helped Coventry City to a 2-0 away win at Southend United, while Hakeeb Adelakun played 71 minutes in Rotherham’s 2-2 draw with AFC Wimbledon.

There was defeat for Sammie Szmodics though, who played in Peterborough United’s 2-1 defeat to Fleetwood Town.

Storm Dennis left its mark across the country with various fixtures cancelled but in League Two, Tyreeq Bakinson came off the bench as Plymouth Argyle beat Crewe 2-1 and Jonny Smith played 83 minutes in Oldham Athletic’s 1-1 draw with Forest Green Rovers.

And in the Vanarama National League South, Vince Harper came off the bench to play his role in Bath City’s 1-0 win over Concorde Rangers.
