Loan watch: Edwards grabs first league goal

Winger Owura Edwards helped Grimsby Town beat Cheltenham Town with his first league goal.

After winning back possession high up the pitch, Edwards hit a hard left-footed shot beyond the Robins keeper in their Tuesday night Sky Bet League Two match.

It gave his side the lead, with Grimsby holding out to win 3-1. James Morton also made his debut for the Mariners.

Louis Britton also scored his first goal for Torquay United. His ninth-minute close-range finish got the Gulls off and running towards their 2-1 win over Chesterfield.

Bath City overcame Slough Town in their Emirates FA Cup third qualifying round match on Tuesday, with Freddie Hinds providing a delicate chip to score the only goal of the game.

And George Nurse helped Walsall beat Leyton Orient 2-1 in League Two. He nearly grabbed an assist when his pullback found Rory Holden but the former City youngster's shot smacked the post.
