Loan watch: Conway's debut double delights Romans

Striker Tommy Conway scored a brace on his Bath City debut as the Romans progressed in the early rounds of the Emirates FA Cup.

Conway wasted no time and was on the scoresheet inside the second minute with a close-range finish, before a similar strike in the second half with a near-post volley.

City went to to beat Winchester 3-2 in the FA Cup second qualifying contest.

 

Man of the Match Marley Watkins scored to help Aberdeen to a 2-1 win over St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership. A ball into the box was quickly played into his path where Watkins took one touch before rolling the ball into the bottom corner. He then assisted the winner in injury time.

Hakeeb Adelakun scored the only goal of the game after just 10 minutes as Hull City overcame Plymouth Argyle, while George Nurse grabbed an assist as Walsall were held 1-1 by Forest Green Rovers.

Newport County sit top of League Two after they beat Mansfield Town 2-1 with Saikou Janneh coming off the bench to play the final 25 minutes for the Exiles.

Louis Britton played the final 10 minutes on his first appearance for Torquay United who beat Stockport 1-0 in the Vanarama National League but it was a first league defeat for Robbie Cundy at Cambridge United, who slipped to a 2-0 loss to Exeter City.

And winger Jonny Smith played an hour in Swindon Town's 3-1 defeat to Peterborough United.
