Loan watch: Exiles advance in FA Cup

Newport County will face Wrexham in the second round of the FA Cup next month.

Tyreeq Bakinson and Antoine Semenyo helped the Exiles to a 2-0 victory over Metropolitan Police, while Freddie Hinds' Wrexham knocked Weston-super-Mare out of the competition in a 2-0 win of their own.

Hinds did not feature against Weston who fielded George Nurse at the Woodspring Stadium.

Elsewhere from the weekend's fixtures:

Jonny Smith came off the bench as Tranmere Rovers drew 3-3 to earn an FA Cup replay against Oxford City.

Shawn McCoulsky and Taylor Moore were both unused substitutes for Southend United, who face an FA Cup replay with Crawley Town after their 1-1 draw.

Elsewhere in the FA Cup, Jake Andrews, Connor Evans and Saikou Janneh couldn't stop Torquay United's exit, as they were beaten 1-0 by Woking.

In the National League South, James Morton played the full 90 minutes as Bath City were held to a 3-3 draw with Wealdstone, with Tom Richards an unused substitute in Truro City's 3-2 win.

In the National League North, Harvey Smith was un unused substitute in Hereford's 3-1 defeat to FC United of Manchester.

And Zak Vyner helped Rotherham United to a 1-1 draw with Blackburn Rovers in the Sky Bet Championship.
