Young striker Louis Britton was the hat-trick hero for Yate Town in their nine-goal FA Trophy thriller.
Yate beat AFC Totton 6-3 to progress to the 3rd round of the knockout competition.
City loanees Bradley Webb and Britton were in fine form, Webb getting on the scoresheet himself before Britton’s masterclass.
Striker Matty Taylor has been in good form in front of goal in recent weeks and this time supplied an assist in Oxford United’s 2-0 Emirates FA Cup first round win over Hayes and Yeading.
Liam Walsh played the full 90 minutes as Coventry City beat Colchester United 2-0 win in the FA Cup first round.
Also progressing to the next round of the historic cup competition are Jonny Smith (Oldham Athletic) - who scored the match winner in a 2-1 victory over Gateshead – and Jojo Wollacott (Forest Green Rovers), whose clean sheet helped his side to a 4-0 win over Billericay Town.
In the National League South, Sam Pearson notched an assist as Bath City beat Concord Rangers 3-1.
Wales international midfielder Joe Morrell’s Lincoln City were held to a 1-1 draw in the FA Cup first round with Ipswich Town at Portman Road. The sides will meet again in a replay on November 19th.
Cameron Pring played 90 mins and Rory Holden 22 in a 2-2 FA Cup first round draw v Darlington in which both teams were reduced to ten men. A replay has been arranged for November 20th.
George Nurse played the full game in Newport County’s 1-1 FA Cup draw with Grimsby. The replay will take place on November 19th.
And goalkeeper Lochlan Robertson’s Evesham United were held to a 2-2 draw with Highworth Town.
Elsewhere, Jamie Paterson suffered a 1-0 defeat as Derby County were beaten to local rivals Nottingham Forest in the Sky Bet Championship and Saikou Janneh and Robbie Cundy lost 1-0 while representing Torquay United.
