Let's kick on with a win against Leeds - Brownhill

Josh Brownhill says a win against Leeds United on Saturday would show City's intentions in the Sky Bet Championship (kick-off 3pm).

Two months into the season and both sides are among the promotion places and three points for City would be "massive" for the club.

Leeds travel to Ashton Gate off the back of three consecutive league defeats, in stark contrast to City's 12-game unbeaten run.

Marlon Pack scored the only goal in a 1-0 win for City, the last time the two teams met in BS3, but Brownhill also remembers the 2-1 defeat at Elland Road earlier in the term.

The midfielder told BCTV: "I remember them being a good team. They have strength throughout their squad, there's no doubt about that, and it's a great club. But I remember we were unlucky to not come away from that game with something.

"We weren't in great form around that time but we are in a better place now. They've had some good results but we are in great form too.

"I think the Leeds game will be different, compared to Burton last week. They'll want to win the game as much as we will. If they want to be up at the top of the Championship like we do then these are the games you have to win. I think we'll put out a good performance as we did on Friday although we lacked quality at times but overall it was a good performance.

"A win for us will be massive. We've taken points against clubs where we probably shouldn't have, like Derby at home which was massive, and this is the same. Leeds are a great team with great history, great players and to beat a team like that will stand us in good stead for the rest of the season and help us kick on."

"These are the games you have to win."

Tickets sales for Saturday's clash have surpassed the 23,000-mark, which includes a 3,700-strong away end sell out.
