Marlon Pack insists tonight’s Carabao Cup third round tie with Stoke City will not be a distraction from league matters.
Saturday’s thumping 4-1 win over Derby County moved City up to eighth in the Sky Bet Championship table, following on the back of trips to Reading and Wolves.
They take a break from the Championship when they entertain Stoke City of the Premier League at Ashton Gate tonight (7.45pm), and Pack is relishing the occasion.
“Over the years the transition Stoke have undergone has been brilliant,” Pack told BCTV.
“They’re an established Premier League team now and, as a footballer, you want to be testing yourself against the best.
“Even if they make changes, their team will still be packed full of quality. It’s a chance for us to show what we can do."
WHAT HE SAID
“It was great to beat Watford in the last round but to have a Premier League team come to Ashton Gate will be fantastic for the club and everyone is up for it.”
He added: “The momentum is great for us right now and we want to continue that, whether it’s a league game or a cup game.
“I’m sure there will be a few lads coming into the team who will want to impress the gaffer to stake a claim for regular football.
