Jonathan Leko has been recalled by parent club West Brom.
The winger will return to the Hawthorns for the start of 2018, where new boss Alan Pardew is keen to look at all of his squad members.
Leko joined City in August on a season-long loan, but has seen first-team opportunities limited. Of his 11 appearances, just five were starts.
Head coach Lee Johnson said: “Jonathan has been recalled so he’ll go back tomorrow (Tuesday).
“He’s done well and has been a joy to have around. He probably hasn’t had as much game time as he would have hoped.
“Understandably their manager wants to have a good look at him, so Jonathan goes back with our best wishes.”
Season Tickets for the 2022/23 campaign are selling at a record pace, with more than 9,000 supporters already committed.
