Leko excited to make home bow

Jonathan Leko says he is looking forward to playing at Ashton Gate for the first time on Saturday when Derby County visit BS3 (3pm).

Since his loan move from West Brom, the youngster has made two appearances in City colours – both away from home - and he says he is impressed with what he has seen from his new team-mates.

Off the field, Leko is equally as impressed with the city, and feels he is adapting well to his new surroundings in what is his first move away from the Midlands.

"I have settled in really well and I think Bristol is a really nice place,” he told BCTV.

"I have been around town a little bit but am yet to explore the main sites - I will do once this heavy block of fixtures are out of the way.

“Our current run of games is tough, but we just have to recover well and get ready to go again.

“This is the first time I have experienced a schedule like this, but I am enjoying it.”

WHAT HE SAID

"I’ve never actually competed at Ashton Gate but all the boys have told me how good the fans are so I am expecting a good atmosphere!”

Lee Johnson handed the England Under-19 international his first start during Tuesday night’s 3-3 draw with big-spending Wolves, and Leko believes City were fully deserving of the point.

"I thought the game went well and it was a good point,” he continued.

“We are probably a bit disappointed with how the game finished because we were 3-2 up late on and they nicked a point, but overall it was a good result.

"I thought we played some good football and I managed to create a couple of chances which was good.

“I got a couple of boos, obviously being a West Brom player, but that didn’t faze me, it’s part of the game.

“We now return to Ashton Gate on Saturday and I am excited because I haven’t played at home yet.
