Kerkdijk selected for Netherlands World Cup squad

Danique Kerkdijk has been named in the 23-player squad to represent the Netherlands at this summer’s World Cup.

The central defender could feature in any of the three group stage games for the Netherlands, where they will face New Zealand (Tuesday, June 11th), Cameroon (Saturday, June 15th) and Canada (Thursday, June 20th). 

Before leaving for France, the Netherlands will play their final pre-World Cup friendly against Australia, who have also qualified for the finals. The match between the Orange Lionesses and the Matildas will take place in the Philips Stadium in Eindhoven on Saturday, June 1st. 

This year’s Women’s World Cup finals will be held in France from Friday, June 7th to Sunday, July 7th.
