Kelly and Eliasson make first City starts at Watford

Lee Johnson hands first City starts to Lloyd Kelly and Niclas Eliasson in a much-changed line-up for the Carabao Cup second round tie at Watford (7.45pm).

Eighteen-year-old Kelly made his senior debut against Plymouth Argyle in round one, while Swedish winger Eliasson, 21, has not featured since coming on at Birmingham City.

Frank Fielding and Famara Diédhiou are the only survivors from Saturday’s goalless draw with Millwall at Ashton Gate, while Jens Hegeler moves into midfield.

Matty Taylor is included in a matchday squad for the first time this season having recovered from a groin injury.

Watford: Gomes, Mariappa, Kabasele, Prodl, Holebas, Watson, Capoue, Hughes, Amrabat, Deeney, Richarlison. Subs: Pantilimon, Britos, Cathcart, Chalobah, Cleverley, Success, Gray.

Bristol City: Fielding, Vyner, Flint, Magnusson, Kelly, Eliasson, Hegeler, O’Neil, O’Dowda, Hinds, Diédhiou. Subs: Lucic, Wright, Golbourne, K.Smith, Paterson, Reid, Taylor.

Referee: Mr T Robinson.
