Todd Kane is relishing the cup opportunities in front of Bristol City in the next five days.
City travel to Doncaster Rovers in the FA Cup third round on Saturday (3pm) before heading back to Gillingham in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy area final first leg on Tuesday evening.
Kane is hoping City can win on Saturday to set up a glamour tie in round four of football’s oldest cup competition this weekend, before focusing on getting the team a step closer to Wembley in the Football League Trophy.
“I’m getting my opportunity to play games,” Kane told Bristol City Player.
“I’ve settled in really well here and I’ve got to know all the lads, staff and the manager.
“Hopefully I’m showing the fans what I’m able to do and I’d be delighted for that to continue.
“We’ve got some cup games to focus on now. The FA Cup is a special competition and hopefully we can get through on Saturday to draw one of the big clubs in the next round.
“As for the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy, it would be great for everyone associated with the club to get to Wembley.
“There aren’t too many players in the squad who have played at Wembley. As a young squad, myself included, it would give everyone a great opportunity to play at the national stadium – not everyone gets the chance throughout their whole career.
“We’ve been playing well recently and getting good results. We’ll continue to concentrate on the next game and hopefully we can win at Doncaster first and foremost.”
