Tomas Kalas was pleased with the energy and quality of his side's performance despite the end result against Fulham in BS3.
City put in a dominant display at Ashton Gate but were not able to progress to the next round of the Emirates FA Cup due to a Harry Wilson cross that eventually found the back of net in 105th-minute.
Speaking to Robins TV, Kalas said: "I think that's the most energetic performance this season so far but after all they scored more and we get nothing.
"We need to keep playing like that, it's what the fans want to see and we want to deliver it to them.
"Everyone left everything on the pitch and every player fought for the badge, the fans will appreciate that."
City hit the road next weekend to face Fulham (Saturday, January 15th, 3pm) with three league points on the line at Craven Cottage, and the Robins will have a strong away following for their trip to West London after selling out their allocation of 1,687.
The Robins' next home game is the Severnside Derby as Cardiff City make the journey across the bridge to take on City at Ashton Gate (Saturday, January 22nd, 12:30pm).
England U20 were defeated 36-37 by Ireland courtesy of a late Sam Prendergast penalty in the the Six Nations Summer Series.
