Club captain Tomas Kalas says City can be pleased with their league standing at this point in the campaign.
The Robins take on Wycombe Wanderers this Saturday (December 26th, 3pm KO) when they look to get back to winning ways. In fact three points could see the Robins return to the top six, with Dean Holden's men currently three points off the play-off spots.
Holden has already spoken of how his side need to "snap out of the run" they find themselves on, after three defeats in a row.
However, neither side find themselves in good form with the Chairboys stuck at the foot of the Championship table at Christmas.
Kalas told Robins TV: “After three losses in a row, it’s time to get some results back. We always try to win and perform at our best but whoever works in football and knows the game enough knows it is not that easy.
“It’s a cliché but we’ll try our best, we’ll work on what we need to do to beat Wycombe, then we train and work on what we need to do to beat Luton.
"But we’re almost halfway through the season and even after three losses in a row we can’t be too disappointed with our position, but we can’t be happy because we were higher than we are now.
“We are just three points from play-offs (ninth, 30 points), anyone can beat anyone so it will be different come the end of January, February or March. Basically we just have to stay within the top six, that’s always the aim and when we stick to that everything will be decided later in the season.”
*Kalas' interview was filmed and edited prior to the Tier Three announcement for Bristol, meaning fans are sadly not permitted into Ashton Gate until further notice.
City versus Wycombe Wanderers will be streamed live on Robins TV, with the pre-match show starting at 2.30pm.
