Lee Johnson says it’s time for City to put the record straight against Preston North End tomorrow night (Tuesday, 7.45pm).
The City head coach is well aware that the Lilywhites hold somewhat of a hoodoo over his team in recent times.
In fact, Johnson and his assistant head coach Jamie McAllister were in the last City squad to beat Preston back in February 2011 - a 4-0 victory at Deepdale.
Since then, the Lancashire club are unbeaten in eight successive games against the Robins, winning the last three.
“This one is actually a bigger test for me than Saturday’s game at Sheffield Wednesday,” Johnson told bcfc.co.uk.
“I say that because of our previous results against Preston on home soil, and over the years in the Championship.
“They’re a good side and I watched them on Friday night (0-0 draw with Bolton Wanderers). They’ve got some quality players.
“It’s two youthful teams who will be very energetic and we’re going to need the supporters.
“It feels like a long time since we’ve seen our home fans. We’re looking forward to getting back to Ashton Gate.”
Tickets remain on general sale for the contest, which is a Silver category game. Buy online or call 0117 963 0600.
