Johnson Predicts Attacking Encounter

Lee Johnson says supporters attending tonight’s Sky Bet Championship clash at Hillsborough should expect plenty of attacking football.

The City head coach is well known for his own near gung-ho approach, with his side registering 35 shots in the 2-2 away draw at Rotherham United on Saturday.

Likewise, Carlos Carvalhal’s Sheffield Wednesday have plenty of dangerous attacking players in their armoury.

“It would be a good game for any neutrals,” Johnson told Bristol City Player HD. “It should be a game full of attacking.

“They’re a top team and I love the way they play. I really like the way Carlos has got them operating. They’ll be up there with the likes of Newcastle, Norwich and Villa.

“Hillsborough is a big venue with huge tradition and I always love going there, as a player previously and now as a head coach.”

He added: “I think there are similarities between the two sides. We’ve both got intricate players who can play just in behind the strikers.

“Maybe they’ve got more experience, but we’ve got plenty of legs and mobility in our team, which makes us difficult to play against.”

Callum O’Dowda (dead leg) and Hordur Magnusson (head) are both likely to shake off injuries picked up at Rotherham.

Gustav Engvall (knee) and Korey Smith (ear infection) will both form part of the 24-man squad travelling to South Yorkshire, but it may come too soon for the pair to return.
