Johnson Aiming For Four New Faces

Lee Johnson is aiming to make four signings before the transfer deadline slams shut for January.

The City head coach revealed he is looking to make two additions to his senior squad, plus another two new arrivals for the development group.

It would take the club’s transfer window tally to eight incomings, following the arrival of Jens Hegeler, Milan Djuric, Bailey Wright and Fabian Giefer.

Johnson also confirmed there could be more outgoings, with Luke Freeman’s future set to be decided in the next 36 hours.

However, Johnson told Bristol City Player HD: “To be honest I’m trying to stay out of the nitty-gritty of the transfer window; for that bit it’s over to (chief operating officer) Mark Ashton. My focus is firmly on the Sheffield Wednesday game.

“I certainly think it’s going to busy between now and the window closing and we hope to do four deals. Two would be for the first team now.

“The other two would strengthen our underbelly, the development squad. We’re consistent in believing it’s important to build a sustainable future for the club.”

On Freeman, Johnson said: “I’m sure that will sort itself out before the window closes, one way or another.”

Tickets remain on general sale for the Sheffield Wednesday clash, either online or by calling 0117 963 0600 during office hours. The match will also be pay on the night for home supporters.
