What is NCS?

The National Citizen Service is a voluntary personal and social development programme for 15–17-year-olds.

What does Programme look like?

This year programme lasts for 10 days over the course of 2 weeks (Monday – Friday)

Week 1

In the first week of the programme, young people stay away from home in an activity centre in Bristol. For many, this is the longest they’ve been away from home and their first taste of independence. During their stay, they will take part in a range of activities, sessions, and workshops. From high ropes and bubble football to discussing mental health and public speaking.

Week 2

The second week of the programme is non-residential, with young people will meeting each day at Ashton Gate. In this week they will give back to their community by delivering a ‘social action project’ devised by them as a team. From volunteering to campaigning and fundraising, this is their opportunity to use their initiative and make a difference.

Wave 2: 25th July – 5th August

Wave 3: 8th August – 19th August

All staff must also complete a 2-day training course and online training modules.*

Programmes run weekdays from July 11th through to August 19th. Please state in your application which cohort(s)/wave(s) you are available.
