Job Vacancy: Student Recruitment and Admissions Coordinator

Bristol City Robins Foundation is a registered charity, which strives to make a positive difference for all through sport and learning. We recognise the positive impact we have on the community but are continually looking to develop and expand our reach.

We require a full-time Student Recruitment and Admissions Coordinator working within the Education Department and report directly into the Head of Education and Deputy Head of Education.

The Student Recruitment and Admissions Coordinator is responsible for handling recruitment, admissions and progressions for all students on our Post 16 and degree courses. This includes handling students' enquiries and applications from the first point of contact, to formally enrolling onto the course and supporting students graduating from courses.

Your Main Responsibilities:

Student recruitment and admissions:

  • Responsible for the design, review and implementation of a recruitment strategy, ensuring recruitment targets for all courses are met.
  • Provide content and input into the design of recruitment material each year.
  • Recruit students for all education courses and ensure courses are viable and at capacity through attend career events, open evenings and other events across the City and beyond. (Evening and weekend work will be required)
  • Ensure students are on the correct courses for them, in line with grades and entry requirements required.
  • Coordinate open evenings, information sessions, Q+A sessions, interview sessions and taster sessions.
  • Manage and maintain an accurate recruitment database which can easily be accessed, to keep up to date with student numbers and applications
  • Coordinate enrolment of students on GCSE results day
  • Build relationships with all Bristol secondary schools and colleges

Student progression;

  • Responsible for the design, review and implementation of a progression's strategy, assessing the students' desired progression routes and advising them accordingly.
  • Conduct meetings with all students to establish their desired and appropriate exit route from their course.
  • Invite guest speakers to student updates relating to exit route opportunities.
  • Coordinate apprenticeship progression route options

You will have:

  • Experience of working within a customer-facing environment is desirable. It would be advantageous if there were experience in further/higher education student recruitment.
  • Exceptional customer service, which builds positive relationships in the community needs to be evident.
  • High quality administrative and organisational skills.
  • An understanding of the further/higher education sector and a flexible approach to work is essential.

This position is full time (37.5 hours per week) from August 10th, 2020, but candidates will be expected to put time into self-development immediately. Candidates must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends. Events usually take place in the evening. However, there will be an opportunity to manage your work programme. The successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check.
