Mark Little has spoken of his relief at returning to first team action for the first time since April.
Little dislocated his shoulder at Oldham Athletic on Good Friday and has been on a long and arduous road to recovery ever since.
He finally made his comeback at Middlesbrough last Saturday, which coincided with the club’s first win of the 2015/16 Championship season.
“It was fantastic to be back…I’d waited a long time for that moment,” Little told Bristol City Player HD.
“With a little help from the squad around me, thankfully we were able to get a result as well.
“I’d been sat watching the previous results and although the performances were good, we weren’t getting the results. We’re not used to losing games.
“To get back in the team and get the result we wanted was a fantastic feeling; it’s all I could have asked for.”
Recalling his many months on the sidelines, Little said: “The surgeon had given me a date for my comeback but although my shoulder was Ok’d by him for a return, it was preventing me from operating at my full power.
“We had to slow down throwing me back in a little bit. There’s nothing that could prepare me for Championship football, other than actually playing in a competitive game.
“I have to get up to speed in games now. The gaffer felt confident in playing me at Boro and I think it went well.
“The shoulder feels good. I fell over a few times and my arm got yanked as well but there wasn’t any pain.”
