Frank Fielding is delighted to be back playing following a frustrating period on the sidelines due to injury.
City’s stopper has featured on just three occasions this season due to a shoulder injury picked up prior to the Capital One Cup tie with Luton Town in early August.
The 27-year-old was back in action last Saturday against Birmingham City and feels his season is just getting started.
“I’ve been really disappointed in the last few weeks with the injury setback,” he told Bristol City Player HD.
“It’s just one of those things that happens when you’re a footballer, but I’m absolutely buzzing and delighted to be back in the team playing again.
“It does feel like the season has just started and maybe that’s not a bad thing.
“I massively believe everything happens for a reason and hopefully we can kick on now and pick up some more points.”
Fielding was also involved in City’s draw against Preston North End on Tuesday night.
Steve Cotterill’s men put in an assured defensive performance and Fielding was full of praise for the back five going into tomorrow’s encounter with Reading.
“I thought the performance from the back five was excellent,” he said.
“Everyone was back on it on Tuesday and we can take that into tomorrow. The performance level is there and if we maintain it we’ll see out games.
He continued: “They’re (Reading) a good team. A bit of an up and down start, but there’s no easy game in this league and it’s another difficult game and test for us.”
Tickets for tomorrow’s match at Ashton Gate remain on general sale in the Atyeo Stand and Dolman Stand. Click here to secure your seat online now.
