Alex Scott spoke of the City squad’s delight at returning to winning ways with a hard-fought road victory over Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium.
Jay Dasilva’s late strike was all that separated the two sides in Staffordshire as the Robins set their sights on a strong finish to the 2021/22 campaign.
Speaking to Robins TV, Scott said: “We’re buzzing - we all enjoyed it out there. Obviously, it’s good to bounce back from the Peterborough game and we know the fans were disappointed.
“We know how good we can be and we showed that, but we can also be better and we go again on Monday. It was important we got the away win and the clean sheet to go with it.”
Good Friday’s victory saw a compact defensive display from the Robins as they frustrated the Potters across the 90 minutes, whilst being effect on the counter and creating numerous chances.
“We know we can play that way, hit teams on the counter,” he continued, “we have players that can hold up the ball in Chris (Martin) and Antoine (Semenyo), and then we have Antoine and Andi (Weimann) that can run in behind and cause problems.
“We got the goal from Jay (Dasilva), a bit of a lucky goal but he’ll take that. But we absorbed the pressure well and defended in numbers - we very much enjoyed it.”
The Robins' next home game sees them host Sheffield United at Ashton Gate on Monday, April 18th (5:30pm).
