Bristol City Women boss Tanya Oxtoby was pleased with both sides of her team’s game in their 1-1 draw with Liverpool Women at Prenton Park on Sunday.
“Sunday’s performance was fantastic. I thought it was a game of two halves, first half we were on the front foot with plenty of opportunities which we should have taken more of. Second half, Liverpool created a number of chances but we defended really well.
“We spoke all of last week about Prenton Park being a difficult place to come and there is loads going on about us not scoring goals and some of our performances.
“I thought in possession in the first half and out of possession second half we were fantastic, Liverpool created chances but we changed our shape, we were resolute and a point away from is a great result for us.”
“Ebony has been in fine form for her country and she’s been rewarded with a start today and then she’s gone and rewarded herself with a goal, so I’m pleased for her.
“I thought she could have had a second goal straight after, so I’ll have a word with her about that one but overall really pleased for her.”
“We have spoken lot about making sure that we do not give teams anything. I think we have been a little bit soft in previous weeks and the girls agree with that, so we’ve got to continue to be resolute and I thought our defensive display was superb.”
Bristol City Women are next in Barclays FA Women's Super League action when they take on Tottenham Hotspur at the SGS College Stoke Gifford Stadium on Sunday, October 27th (3pm) and supporters can purchase their tickets here.
