International recognition for Francois

Marlee Francois is preparing to jet off to Spain to link up with the Australian Under-23s group, as the Socceroos’ preparations for Tokyo 2020 continue.

The 18-year-old has been called up to the Olyroos’ 24-man squad camp in Marbella which gets underway on Friday (May 28th).

During the two-week tour the group will compete in four friendlies, three of which will be contested against nations that have also qualified for the men’s football tournament at Tokyo 2020.

On June 2nd Australia will play Republic of Ireland’s Under-21 men’s national team, ahead of international friendlies against fellow Tokyo 2020 qualified nations Saudi Arabia (Group D) on June 5th, Romania (Group B) on June 8th, and Mexico (Group A) on June 12th.

The Olyroos’ final squad selection for Tokyo 2020 is due to be announced in late June, before the squad assembles in Japan for a training camp in early July.

City fans will be kept up to date on the progress of Francois and all other Robins players on international duty across the club's social media channels and website.
