In brief: Pre-Preston North End press conference

Jamie McAllister met the media ahead of Tuesday's Sky Bet Championship clash with Preston North End at Ashton Gate.

The assistant head coach answered questions from the local and national press along with club captain Bailey Wright.

- Assistant head coach pleased with City's organisation and team ethic

- McAllister delighted with how well the squad has coped with the long-term injuries

- Joe Bryan rated "50/50" to face Preston after groin problem

- On Bailey Wright's return, McAllister says: "It's great to have our captain and leader back; he's in confident mood after qualifying for the World Cup"

- City coach insists the 5-0 defeat at Preston last season is "behind them" and believes the team is very different these days

- "It's our home game and with the fans behind us, we need to impose our game on them," adds McAllister

BAILEY WRIGHT

- Wright thrilled to clinch World Cup 2018 spot with Australia

- Defender says his full focus is on club football now to ensure he wins a spot in Australia's World Cup squad

- Wright thanks the club and its supporters for the backing he received after his two-match ban

- "It's done now and it gave other lads a chance in the team," he says on his suspension

- On Preston, Wright said: "That 5-0 defeat hurt me as a former Preston player but our current team is unrecognisable from the one beaten that night."

- Club captain pleased to be back at Ashton Gate after two and a half weeks away

- He adds: "Preston have had a lot of injuries, but so have we as well."
