Marlon Pack says City can be extremely proud of how they took the game to Manchester City across their two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final.
The midfielder's brilliant header helped City's fightback on Tuesday, before the Premier League club struck late to clinch a 3-2 win on the night (Manchester City won the tie 5-3 on aggregate).
Reflecting on the game in front of a packed-out Ashton Gate, Pack said: "I don't score many so it is always a nice feeling, especially against a side of that calibre as well.
"Not many can say they have scored against Manchester City and it gave us another boost in the game to go ahead and get that equaliser. It was a well-timed goal.
"You go into it not looking to concede but with their quality that is tough at times.
"We stuck to our task well, the goals were sloppy on our part but it's always going to be tough with the quality that they have.
"We know the quality they have, they've shown it all season. The pleasing thing for us is that over both legs we tried to play our football, to continue our press and stamp our own authority on the game.
"I am very proud of the lads, I'm very proud to be part of this football team and we're fully focussed on Saturday and the league now.
"It's the sign of a good team. I think we can achieve something this year because we have that togetherness, that team spirit. It shows in our performances, how we work for each other and how we press."
