I'll Give 110% - Bennett

Elliott Bennett is willing to give his all for City during his loan spell with the club.

The 26-year-old has joined on loan from Norwich City until January 3rd in view to playing regular football.

Former Brighton & Hove Albion man Bennett has found chances at Carrow Road hard to come by since their return to the Premier League, and is looking forward to getting some games under his belt.

“As a player you always want to play football,” he told Bristol City Player HD

“I had a good chat with the manager (Alex Neil) at Norwich who has been brilliant with me, and I expressed my desire to play football. Thankfully Bristol City showed their faith in me.”

He added: “One thing you’ll get with me is I’ll always give 110% and I’ll never come off the pitch thinking 'I could have ran more' or ‘I could have done this more’.

“We’re all professionals and we all want to do as well as we can for whatever club we’re playing for and I’m no different.

“I’ll give 110% for Bristol City and hopefully we can, as a team and a group, do well this season.”

Bennett has declared himself “fit and ready” ahead of Friday’s Sky Bet Championship match with Nottingham Forest (7.45pm).

City have drawn their last two games against Ipswich Town and MK Dons, despite being ahead in the closing stages.

Wide man Bennett is aware of the club’s previous outings and believes, after training with his new team-mates, City have enough in the squad to do well in the division.

He said: “Going into a new league sometimes it’s difficult and I’ve noticed on quite a few occasions late goals have been conceded where all three points would’ve been picked up.

“It’s not as though they’ve been battered, which is good, and they’re always in games, so there’s a lot to build on.

“I’m sure there has been games where they’ve played really well this season and not picked up the points they deserve, but hopefully there will be games where we don’t play so well but we nick three points.

“The Championship is a funny old league and it’s very early days to try and say what’s going to happen, but I’m really happy to be here and can’t wait for the games to get started.”

Tickets for Friday’s match with Forest are still available. To secure your seat, purchase online now or call 0117 963 0600.
