Defender Duncan Idehen has put pen to paper on a two-year contract.
The 19-year-old, who made his debut in a 3-1 win against Derby at Pride Park in April, has signed a deal to stay in BS3 until June 2024.
Idehen started his career at Norwich City before moving to Lincoln City and Grimsby Town, where he was spotted by Robins Academy Director Brian Tinnion.
The 19-year-old, who joined as a free agent on a six-month contract in January, played nine times for the Under-23s before coming off the bench in the second half at Pride Park.
And he accomplished his 20-minute task of helping the Robins secure three points, including a crucial late tackle on the ever-threatening Malcolm Ebiowie.
Speaking to Robins TV on his new deal, Idehen said: "I love it here, it's probably one of the best cities I've been to, which does help with your football because if you're enjoying yourself off the pitch, it helps you on the pitch.
"When I first came here I never thought I'd be with the first team within four to six months so that is a really amazing achievement for me."
Pat Lam has confirmed his 36-man squad for the Bears’ first pre-season friendly of the 2022/23 season against Brive in Saint-Affrique on Friday night (7.45pm KO BST).
