‘I’m enjoying every minute of it’ - Wilson

Midfielder Georgia Wilson was delighted to net her first goal for City in last night’s 5-2 victory over Charlton in the FA Continental Cup.

The youngster broke into the first team squad just a few weeks into the 19/20 season and she hasn’t looked back regularly featuring under Oxtoby so far this season.

“It’s great to get a win, I’m buzzing for the team as that’ll give us confidence heading into the weekend, said Wilson.

“To be honest, I just hit it. It was a well-worked team goal and I just took my chance with a shot from far out. It’s a great feeling to get my first goal for Bristol City.

“It’s all happened so quickly for me this year, I wouldn’t have expected it whatsoever”, she continued, “I’m just so happy at the moment and enjoying getting the opportunity to play football at the highest level.

“Everyone has been great this season in helping me settle, especially playing in midfield with Frankie [Brown]. I feel like her experience has helped me out a lot, both in training and on the pitch.

“It’s a big game this weekend against West Ham, hopefully we can get three points from it- we’ve just got to go in strong like we did against Charlton.”

Bristol City Women take on West Ham United this Sunday in their final home game of 2019 and supports can purchase their tickets at a discounted rate via the link below.
