Taylor Moore admits he can’t wait to pull on a City shirt for the first time at Fulham this evening.
Head coach Lee Johnson says the summer signing from Lens deserves his opportunity to play in tonight’s EFL Cup third round tie at Craven Cottage (7.45pm).
The England Under-20 captain says he’s enjoyed every minute of his time at Ashton Gate to date – but the chance to play is what he is truly striving for.
He told Bristol City Player HD: “I’ve been really impressed with everyone and enjoyed it so far. Players, staff and fans have been great to me.
“I’m still young and have lots to learn, but I’m enjoying it in training; now I can’t wait to play.
“I was a bit behind everyone else coming in so I’ve had to work hard on my fitness, but I feel I’m ready now after being on the bench a few times.
“The gaffer will be looking for a bit of calmness from me. I like to start attacks by bringing the ball out from the back, but at the same time Fulham are good opposition and we’ll need to be solid defensively.
“We’ve been playing really well in the league and the cup and hopefully we can progress into the next round.”
Moore’s England youth colleague Tammy Abraham has already hit the ground running in BS3, with eight goals and plenty of headlines so far.
“That doesn’t surprise me at all,” added Moore. “Since seeing him for the first time at Under-18 level he’s always impressed me.
“He’s on fire at the moment and that can only be good for him and the club.”
