Hakeeb Adelakun says he cannot wait to get started at Ashton Gate.
The attacker becomes Lee Johnson’s third signing of the summer following the arrival of Marley Watkins and Adam Webster.
Adelakun will be experiencing life in the second tier of English football for the first time in his career, but the step up is something he is relishing.
“I think I am ready for a new challenge,” he exclusively told BCTV. “Hopefully I can take it in my stride and I am ready to learn more and just go at it.
“I am an attacking player, who is quite versatile. I create a lot of chances and hopefully I can get supporters off their seats.
“I will look to add something new to the team through my flair and directness. I like to get at defenders, create chances and score goals, so hopefully I can keep that up.”
At the age 22, the London-born attacker was overwhelmed when he walked into Ashton Gate for the first time and believes it’s an environment he can thrive within.
“It’s incredible to join Bristol City,” he continued. “My breath was taken away as soon as I walked into the stadium.
“I want to learn and I believe I can under the management. I am still young so I will look to take in as much information as I can.
“Hopefully I can improve the team and we can push on. It’s a club moving forward and it’s definitely something I want to be involved in.”
Season Tickets for the 2022/23 campaign are selling at a record pace, with more than 9,000 supporters already committed.
