Dean Holden has pinpointed Scott Hogan and Romaine Sawyers as the key danger men for Brentford tonight (7.45pm).
The assistant head coach will warn City’s players to keep close tabs on 13-goal marksman Hogan, who netted against the Robins last season and hasn’t stopped since.
Sawyers switched from Walsall to Brentford in the summer to link up with Bees boss Dean Smith once more.
Holden told Bristol City Player HD: "Scott Hogan is an old-fashioned striker in as much as he can hold the ball up and also use pace to go in behind. He is a powerful player and a real threat, who has been in good form.
"I think he has a bit of everything. He is strong, but he is also quick enough to go past defenders and he scores goals from all areas.
“Sawyers is also dangerous and someone I know well from Walsall.”
Holden also revealed at his pre-match press conference that he and Lee Johnson took a good look at signing Hogan from Rochdale when at Oldham Athletic.
"We knew about him because we were based in the North West as well and word went about that he was a good player,” he added.
"We would have liked to have signed him at that time, but he cost more money than we had to spend at Oldham and he went to Brentford instead (for a reported fee of £750,000)."
He continued: "We have two very good central defenders and they have built a decent partnership this season. They have already shown they are good enough to handle the best strikers in the Championship.”
Tickets will be available on the night for City supporters.
