Dean Holden acknowledged spirit in the City camp is naturally high as City enter their midweek showdown with Watford off the back of three straight wins in the Sky Bet Championship.
The Robins could equal their best winning return this season as they chase that fourth victory in a row.
“It helps when you’ve won three games on the spin and of course there’s a feel-good factor,” Holden told Robins TV. “Everyone is back doing what they love, they’re back training and preparing for a big game tomorrow night.”
Training was hampered ahead of City’s last game against Derby County when the squad was hit by Covid-19 but ‘normality’ is now returning to the club.
“We were able to do a good session on Monday and a good prep session on Tuesday morning,” Holden explained. “It feels like we are getting back to normal though with limited numbers. It’s a big game tomorrow, our full focus is on that one.
“It’s a tough game for us against a team packed with Premier League quality but it’s the next challenge for us.”
The game is the first of 10 before the end of the calendar year, a “relentless” stage in the campaign and Holden says the team have to find consistency over the winter period.
The head coach added: “I think the way we go about things is important, to be consistent when we’re wining or losing because you know the season is always going to throw mixed results. So that’s our way of working and it’s done okay for us, the players enjoy knowing it’s about what we do next.
“We do look back at what we’ve done but it’s a relentless schedule and we have to stay on the next challenge all the times.”
Only Season Card holders can watch the midweek action live on Robins TV as the game has been selected for live coverage by Sky Sports.
