Holden expecting City response at Millwall

Dean Holden believes City will respond to their midweek defeat when the Robins travel to Millwall today (Saturday, February 29th, 3pm KO).

The Assistant Head Coach says City want to move on from the 2-1 reverse to Huddersfield and told Robins TV: “We now have an opportunity to respond and the last couple of days has been about how we can move forward, how we can reframe the players going into a different environment in Millwall.

“For us it’s about looking forward, we know we have quality throughout the squad and if we perform to our best we have every chance of getting the right result.

“This team have proven already this season that we have that response in them and we have full confidence that we are going to fight for everything and give it all for the shirt.

“We know there is more to us than the performance the other night and we want to show the real Bristol City. We have shown it many times this season and we are looking forward to going down to The Den and showing it again.”

Reflection

“The first thing you do after any performance is reflect and we have certainly got a group here at Bristol City who will do that - the players, staff and everyone concerned. We’ll look at everything going into the game and the performance itself.”

Three points

“This part of the season is when the pressure comes externally and for us it’s just about focusing on the three points. The carrot at the end of it is amazing – the Premier League – and that’s where everyone wants to be but it’s about the Millwall test and focusing all our efforts on that. Hopefully on the weekend, we’ll provide a response, we’ll get the three points and move on to the next game.”

The Den

“The Den is a proper football ground with a hostile atmosphere and we have spoken to the players about what to expect and for us it’s a fantastic challenge. You have to go there and battle for everything if you are going to come away with the three points. We can’t wait to get down there with our travelling support and hopefully send them away happy.

The Robins will be backed by more than 1,200 supporters in the capital with the fixture pay on the day for away fans.
