Dean Holden has one message for the supporters – he will give his all and take the opportunity with both hands.
It’s the start of a new era at the club and Holden was keen to address the supporters at the start of this new journey.
The 40-year-old was appointed City’s newest head coach on Monday (August 10th), with Paul Simpson and Keith Downing set to work alongside him in their assistant head coach capacities.
City Head Coach Holden said: “The message is simple: I’m going to give everything I have got to make this club successful. I’m so grateful for the opportunity and I won’t let it go to waste.
“We don’t want them [the fans], we need them for us to be successful and when we’re travelling over the country we need our supporters behind us.
“I’m really pleased I’ve become a head coach where there is such a passionate fanbase, Bristol City is their life and that is a brilliant starting position to be in because it’s not always the case. Whether they’re from Bedminster, Knowle or north of the river, we need them behind us and I’m sure they will do what they’ve done certainly over the last four years I’ve been here, and that’s get right behind the team with passionate support. I really can’t wait to get them back in this stadium and enjoy this journey together.”
