Watch the key moments from the bet365 Stadium as City struck late in each half to compile a first defeat of the season on Stoke City and maintain Dean Holden’s 100% record.
It was encouraging at both ends as Nahki Wells and Andreas Weimann got their first goals of the 2020/21 campaign, while the defence earned their second clean sheet in all competitions.
Chris Martin, who scored his first in City colours in midweek, assisted the opener on the cusp of half-time, when he directed the ball across goal for his strike partner Wells to covert on the turn.
It was deserved for the visitors, who had been on top in the opening half, and while action was limited after the break, the Robins kept the Potters at arm’s length before substitute Antoine Semenyo rolled the ball into the path of Weimann to sweep home.
The Robins return to action on Thursday evening (September 24th, 7pm KO) when they host Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup Round Three. Fans in the UK will be able to watch the match against the Villans on the competition’s official streaming site – Carabao Cup Live – for just £10. Due to the opposition being in the Premier League rather than the English Football League, Robins TV is unable to stream this game.
