🤝 Her Game Too partnership kicks off with a smile

City will continue to stand with Her Game Too in support of the eradication of sexism in football after a successful weekend which saw an increase in female fans.

With the highest attendance at Ashton Gate this season on Saturday against Cardiff City and a record attendance at the Robins High Performance Centre for City Women’s’ game against Charlton on Sunday, the Robins partnership with Her Game Too reached a wide audience and helped carry out the message that football is for everyone.

There was an increase in female fans at Ashton Gate within the 21,435 for the Severnside Derby and the Robins High Performance Centre, with a record 956 fans at the Sunday game against Charlton Athletic Women - some coming to a football game for the first time.

In support of #HerGameToo the Robins Foundation invited young women that they work with in the community and their families to attend the women's game against Charlton to encourage young girls to support and play football.

Foundation Community coach Grace Philips said: “It was an absolute privilege to be able to give the female participants that I coach an opportunity to watch City's women’s team. It’s inspiring for them to see some influential women in sport who are doing amazingly so far this season. The women and girls loved coming down to watch, support and encourage this team. We hope to do this again soon!”

Her Game Too Co-Founders Leah Case and Eve Ralph played a vital part in spreading the message that football is for everyone at both games this weekend, with both of them speaking to Robins TV and to fans at half-time at Ashton Gate on Saturday about the impact that the campaign has already had and the progress it is continuing to make.

Case told Robins TV: "I'm so proud, it doesn't feel real. I'm still processing it because as a City fan I look up to Nigel Pearson and the kind words he said to us at the game yesterday was amazing.

"It's fantastic to see all the females coming to the game today, it just goes to show that no matter who you are you can come and support the team."
